I wish we would update to InDesign to do the newspaper layout. Quark-Express is an easy program to work with, but its to plain. It also has problems viewing cutouts of pictures that are tiff format that come from photoshop, it shows a white back when its not suppose to. I learned how to take the white off by clipping and runaround, but it doesn't take it off completely. Is there a better or easier way to take off the white background of an image so it would have a transparent background in Quark-Express?

yeah i know how it is with the different programs and the whole shebang, I wok with one program at home, another at school, and another at work. besides the compatibility issues, the confusion that comes with having to do the whole fact of ding the same action but in a slightly different manner. I think its just one of the things we just have to deal with.
Um, check your spelling. You spelled "too" wrong...
I used Quark for a good ten years. They dominated the marketplace. Unfortunately, the program was full of bugs, and they offered no student discount price.
Adobe was smart, and strategically built a "Quark-killer" application, based on the bones of the old PageMaker program that they had acquired through acquisition of the company.
I don't miss Quark.
